Pet Fact #12

Dogs don't sweat like humans, they pant to cool off! Follow PawPals Lake Nona for more pet facts.

Pet Fact #12

On a hot day, we as humans sweat to cool off. (Although no one likes a damp underarm.)

Dogs, on the other hand, sweat from their paw pads to cool down! They also pant because panting allows moisture from their tongues and nasal passages to evaporate, helping them to cool, unlike humans who cool off as sweat from their skin evaporates.

Don’t let fear of overheating prevent you from letting your pet live life to the fullest. By switching their daily walk or play time to the morning or evening, they can still get daily exercise without being exposing to the hottest parts of the day.
